SeasonCal

Why we built this

I’ve spent years on rec soccer fields — first as a coach for both my kids, now just as a parent on the sidelines. The communication problem never got better.

Every season it starts the same way: someone creates a group chat. Sometimes three of them. Practices get posted, a few parents miss it, someone asks again, the coach resends it. Game day comes and half the team shows up at the wrong field because a cancellation went out over text at 6am and not everyone caught it.

Parents screenshot the schedule and manually add games to their phone calendar. Then the schedule changes. Nobody knows.

The big sports apps charge per player. Rec leagues don’t have that budget, and most coaches aren’t getting paid either. So everyone defaults to group texts and crossed fingers.

SeasonCal is the thing I wanted to exist. A coach creates a calendar, shares a 6-character code, and every game and practice shows up automatically in parents’ Google or Apple Calendar. When something changes — a cancellation, a field switch, a time change — everyone gets notified. No extra app to download. No per-player fee. No group chat chaos.

Built for the rec level, where the budget is zero and the need is real.
